Close Up. Diane Decker-Houser (ddhouser30@yahoo.com) of Chalice UU Congregation in Escondido.

Early years. Grew up in the Los Angeles area as a “Valley Girl” but the San Gabriel Valley. Moved to San Diego in 1970 and to Poway in 1990.

Years a UU. A UU all her life but only realized it about 15 years ago when her husband dragged her kicking and screaming to visit Chalice. The rest is history as they say.

Career. Customer service with Pacific Telephone, then AT&T, and later two different computer companies.

Dinner guests. Barack and Michelle Obama.

Keys to UU growth in San Diego County. We need more visibility, including billboards, TV ads and magazine ads. There have got to be a lot of people out there that are UUs and don't know it.

Profiles. If you know an interesting UU in San Diego County you'd like to profile, please e-mail martin@kruming.com.
